Nursery Minister (Part time)

POSITION SUMMARY

The nursery minister works with adult and youth volunteers to provide dependable, safe, and nurturing care to infants and children 6 years and younger on Sunday mornings from September – May. The nursery minister reports to the Lead Pastor.

PRIMARY DUTIES
• Attend 9:30am Sunday worship and lead a 20-minute nursery faith formation time in the nursery during worship for kids ages 0-6
• After worship on Sundays, staff the nursery from 11am – 12pm for kids ages 0-3
• Set up and clean up nursery and maintain clean, safe materials for children
• Create a safe, positive and welcoming environment for all children, including children with special needs
• Be enthusiastic and intentional about establishing nurturing relationships with children and their families. Present a polite, friendly, and courteous attitude to all
• With support from the lead pastor and volunteers, form a schedule and rituals for nursery time (games, songs, stories, play, prayer) that are age-appropriate, faith-forming, and flexible given needs of kids
• Coordinate adult volunteers to help staff the nursery, so there are always a minimum of 2 responsible adults in the nursery at any given time
QUALIFICATIONS
• Loves children!
• Early childhood degree (earned or in progress) is desirable, but not required.
• Minimum of two years of experience caring for infants and children under the age of 6
• At least 18 years old
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Willingness to complete Safe Gatherings training before the start of employment. This is paid time. We will also cover and expect CPR training.
TIMELINE
Ideally, employment would begin in mid-September 2026. Start date is open for negotiation.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION
This position is generally a 3 hour/week position on Sunday mornings. However, there may be opportunities for additional hours as occasions arise. Compensation is $25/hour.
