Worship
|
Worship is at the center of our life together. Each Sunday at 10:30am we worship through word and meal, song and silence. We are called, nurtured and sent in the name of the Living Christ.
While our worship is shaped by the traditional form of the liturgy: gathering, word, meal and sending, it is also influenced by our own particular flavor and joy. A variety of voices lead us: children and adult choirs; numerous instrumentalists and cantors; accomplished accompanists; a rotation of assisting ministers; readers of all ages.
Children are warmly welcomed in worship and at the table. Parents and kids are invited to go in and out of the sanctuary as needed.
For 10:30am, we are worshipping in person and via YouTube. You can access the Youtube link on our Facebook page.
Here are a few of the things you will find as you worship at Our Saviour’s:
- Engaging Preaching
- Lively and eclectic music -- not just familiar songs and hymns, but music from around the world and fresh new compositions from our own members
- Careful attention to the beauty of the worship environment. Our architecture expresses our understanding of the Gospel. Our seating surrounds the table, baptismal font and reading desk. Spacious windows fill the space with natural light. Perhaps more important, they look onto Chicago Avenue and our Phillips neighborhood, reminding us that our life of faith calls us to be living and engaged in the world around us for the sake of our neighbors.
- A strong sense of community (find examples in the sidebar to the left.)
