Pastor Laurie Eaton
612-871-2967 option 3

Pastor Laurie Eaton was called as pastor to Our Saviour’s in 2009. Her passion for seeing faith active in individual lives as well as in transforming our communities and the world are a good match with the congregation’s history and priority of being visible signs of God’s love.

A 2003 graduate of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Laurie served as Associate Pastor at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins from 2003-2009. She is an active leader in ISAIAH, a coalition of approximately 100 congregations committed to living out faith values in the public realm, seeking racial and economic equity in our state. Formerly she served on the Minneapolis Area Synod Council and as Co-chair of the Partnership Table. Called to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament, much of her focus includes worship, education, pastoral care and the Congregation Council.

Laurie is the proud mother of four fabulous adult children: Sam, Kelly, Jake and Casey. She is married to Jim Jasper, Executive Director of Restart, Inc. Her greatest joys include serving as pastor at OSLC, having faith conversations with members and friends, reading novels, good coffee, and antiquing with Jim.

Mary Preus, Music Director
612-871-2967 option 6

Mary Preus is first, a song leader and second, a singer, teacher, worship leader and choir director. Music director and song leader at Our Saviour's since 1994, Mary engages the community not just on Sunday mornings, but at almost every Wednesday Connections evening, too. A colleague once said of her, "Mary could teach a stone to sing."

Mary has been working in neighborhood businesses, community arts endeavors, and progressive Christian peace and justice communities for twenty-five years. She sings in several different languages and has led singing around the world. She is the artistic director of Minnesota Community SINGS, the worship and music coordinator for the Community of St. Martin, and a co-founder and member of Bread for the Journey, where she co-leads the teaching and singing of songs of justice, community and faith from around the world.

Mary says, “When we join our voices to the song of all creation, we not only build community, but we do what comes naturally which helps us know our place as just one part of the big, beautiful whole. Singing together is irresistible joy!”

Pastor Martha Schwehn Bardwell

Pastor Martha Bardwell was ordained and began her position as Associate Pastor of Community and Faith Formation in 2016, continuing and expanding the successful programs she had begun several years earlier.  She enjoys both her work and play with the wonderful youth in the congregation. She brings imagination and many other gifts to the growing ministry of welcome, Living Questions.

Before coming as a staff member to Our Saviour's, Martha served as a pastoral intern at Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Minneapolis. She graduated from Luther Seminary with an MDiv in 2015.

Martha's earlier experience includes work in several communities in other regions: she worked in Tacoma at a drop-in center for people experiencing homelessness, as a recruiter for Lutheran Volunteer Corps (LVC), and as a summer lead cook at Holden Village, a Lutheran retreat center and year-round community in the Cascade mountains. Her experience with group pizza- and bread-making has proved surprisingly useful at Our Saviour's Community Bread Oven!
