Congregational update – COVID-19 Notice

Dear Members & Friends at Our Saviour’s,

I want to share with you that on Tuesday morning, Pastor Martha tested positive for COVID-19. Two other family members are also positive; fortunately, they all have mild symptoms.

Given the time of her exposure (Saturday afternoon) and negative test results on Sunday and Monday mornings, Martha was likely only minimally contagious on Sunday, June 5. For our COVID protocols that keep all of us safe and limit the spread of this virus, let us give thanks to God!

Given these circumstances, Pastor Martha will be out of the office this week and absent from in-person worship on Sunday, June 12. We expect her to be back in the office on Monday, June 13, after completing the CDC recommended isolation time. In the meantime, she plans to work from home as much as possible while caring for herself and her family.

If you worshiped in-person on Sunday, June 5, our COVID Team advises that you test regardless of symptoms on or after Friday of this week. If you do have symptoms, please test without delay. We are in a time of high community transmission in the Twin Cities, so please exercise an extra degree caution regarding mask-wearing and maintaining appropriate physical distance—especially around vulnerable neighbors.

Pastor Martha writes: “I truly hope that we only shared in the Spirit and not in sickness on Sunday. I pray that you stay healthy and well. Take good care, everyone!”

Should you have any questions, please email or call the office at 612-871-2967.

Onward in the Spirit!

Interim Pastor Ben Masters, with thanks to the COVID Advisory Team (Paul Batalden, Craig Johnson, Elaine Johnson, & Laurel Ries)
