Jubilee Pathways Workshops

Jubilee Pathways Workshops
January 26, February 2, February 9
6:30 – 8:30 on Zoom
This summer, we received a Ministry Imagination Grant from the Minneapolis Area Synod to invest in our community garden site and to connect more with the 24th St Urban Farms Coalition in our neighborhood. Part of the grant’s intention is to nurture Christian discipleship, and to that end, we are sponsoring a series of workshops called “Jubilee Pathways: Healing our relation to land.”
John Nelson and Laura Newby from Church of All Nations and Underground Seminary in Columbia Heights will be leading these workshops– first, by sharing the story of their congregation’s journey to transform their relationship to the land their church is on, and then by leading us into some analysis and biblical study.
We hope that workshop participants will walk away with:
· Grounding in fresh interpretations of biblical texts that root us in our call to seek restorative, regenerative ways of living on the land
· Renewed imagination and practical insights for growing food and medicinal plants, using permaculture principles, as a way of healing and repair for earth, self, and community
· A clear analysis of how colonization and capitalism have broken our relationship with land
Connections with other people of faith who dream of building a just, livable future through healing our relationship to land
Please visit the website to learn more and to register. When you register, please do not feel the need to offer a suggested donation. Our grant covers our congregation’s participation. We are making these workshops available to anyone from OSLC and beyond – so feel free to share this series with anyone you know who might be interested in this topic! The EcoFaith network of the synod is also promoting these. I hope we can help to grow a conversation about living in ways that are healing and regenerative for earth, self, and community.
