Minneapolis Are Synod-wide Worship Service

Sunday, July 5 - Minneapolis Area Synod-wide worship! For the 4th of July Weekend, the Synod office has graciously offered to prepare worship for the entire synod, so that clergy and other worship leaders can take a Sunday off. It's a gift to those who lead worship, but it's also a gift to all of you: a change of pace from what is familiar; a chance to get a little more familiar with the Synod staff that works to support all our congregations; and a chance to experience that while you are a member of Our Saviour's we are all connected to something much larger. As Presiding Bishop of the ELCA, Elizabeth Eaton reminds us, "we are church together.

Here's the offering from the Synod:

"We celebrate the pastors, deacons, and staff who lead with dedication and creativity amid the real challenges of a global pandemic. So much of ministry now requires new adaptations and forms: online worship services, zoom meetings and classes, pastoral care by phone and facetime, delayed weddings and funerals, finding ways to strengthen connections without gathering in person.

This work of creating and adapting is exhausting work. As a way to thank our leaders for their ministries and offer an opportunity for respite, the synod staff will be providing worship services for use during the weekend of July 4-5.

The services will be prerecorded and readily available for congregational use through the synod's YouTube Channel or Google Drive...We plan to have the recordings and a downloadable bulletin available by noon on Wednesday, July 1. Information on how to access the synod's YouTube Channel and worship bulletin will be sent early Wednesday morning. Most, if not all, of each recording will include ASL interpreting and captioning."
