Neighborhood Quilting

This program, initiated in 2016 in part with a grant from the Minneapolis-Area Synod of the ELCA, is intended to help us learn to know our neighbors through making quilts for others.

Each year, nearly three hundred quilts have been made. About a third go home with our neighborhood quilters for their use or to give to someone they know who needs a quilt. Another third are distributed to local shelters and residences. The remaining quilts are given to Lutheran World Relief. LWR gives them to people in need across the globe -- refuges, and those suffering natural disasters. LWR distributes nearly 500,000 quilts per year.

During the academic year, the group meets Wednesday afternoons. Join us in the Hospitality Center from 12:00-4:30. Everyone is welcome! No particular sewing experience is needed. Have fun learning new skills or using old ones while making something warm and beautiful.
