Neighborhood Quilting each Wednesday afternoon
Back for another year, join us in the Hospitality Center from 12:00-4:30. Come work all of that time, or any part of it.
This program, initiated in 2016 in part with a grant from the Minneapolis-Area Synod of the ELCA, is intended to help us learn to know our neighbors through making quilts for others.
Each year, nearly three hundred quilts have been made. About a third go home with our neighborhood quilters for their use or to give to someone they know who needs a quilt. Another third are distributed to local shelters and residences. The remaining quilts are given to Lutheran World Relief. LWR gives them to people in need across the globe -- refuges, and those suffering natural disasters. LWR distributes nearly 500,000 quilts per year.
Everyone is welcome! No particular sewing experience is needed. Have fun learning new skills or using old ones while making something warm and beautiful.
