How Kids Can Serve

At Our Saviour's we strive to include children and youth as full participants in our faith community, believing as we do that children's spirituality develops largely through experience. That includes serving as worship leaders in various capacities.

  • Do you play an instrument, or sing? Contact Mary Preus and share your musical gifts in worship.
  • To read the lessons or be a Communion server, contact Pastor Laurie to express your interest.
  • Ushers (and ushers in training) are needed every week. Contact Nancy Nygaard-Johnson to sign up as a family or individual, or leave a note in the church office.
  • High school age Youth can serve as Assisting Ministers; younger children can share in leading the Prayers of the People in cooperation with an older Assisting Minister. If this sounds intriguing, tell Pastor Laurie.
  • We often need volunteers to assist supervising the very youngest of our members, in our emerging Nursery Faith Formation space; help the littlest ones experience God's loving presence in community. Soon we hope to have a staff person to supervise this area, but in the meantime, let Pastor Laurie know of your availability.

Every member of our community shares in the Body of Christ, celebrating, serving, and doing justice!
