Blessing of the Animals – Oct 2

On the first Wednesday in October, 6:30pm, we commemorate Francis of Assisi. The son of a wealthy cloth merchant, Francis renounced his wealth and future inheritance and devoted himself to serving the poor. He died in the year 1226. Francis had a spirit of gladness and gratitude for all of God's creation, calling pets and animals brothers and sisters. We will bless any and all animals that you bring with you. Please remember: your “brother” or “sister” is in your care that evening. Please keep your animal on a leash or in your lap, and bring anything you might need to clean up.
