About Our Saviour's
Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church is a dynamic community,
centered in Christ, called, nurtured and sent --
to celebrate, serve and do justice.
Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, built originally near the Seven Corners area, moved to the Phillips neighborhood in 1912. It’s no accident we have stayed in this vital, diverse city neighborhood for 100 years. Many of our members travel some distance to be part of this engaged, Christ-centered worshipping community. Sunday morning a diverse community of all ages gathers for education and worship that is both faithful and fresh, using resources from around the world.
Our understanding of the Gospel is progressive, inclusive, and life-giving. We live out our faith in a commitment to racial and economic justice. (Read more about our worship here.)
We work in partnership with other congregations and organizations – neighboring churches, the Minneapolis Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Luther Seminary, ISAIAH, Bread for the World, and others. Strong leaders from our community have also founded new ministries and have seen them flourish and grow into independent nonprofit organizations:
The Spirit of the Living God is at work bringing life and energy and enthusiasm into our midst as we explore what it means to be followers of Christ in this time and place. There is room for you, and God welcomes us all.
